I Do Taxes. AUGH!

Sorry I haven't been out there stalking you...
I do taxes for a living.
No reason to be jealous.

A pic from the garden last summer.

a few of you have sent me messages
asking if I'm still out here.
I am.
Well, I'm not here.
I'm stuck behind a desk.

I've been saying this is my last year to do taxes.
...for the past 3 years.

I have nothing to share...
I've accomplished nothing in my house...
unless you can count one load of laundry and...
nope, thats it.
Nothing else has been done by me.
Thank goodness for Hubs.
He fed me and put me in bed tonight.
For real.
Told me I looked tired.
Polite way of telling me I look like pooh.
It was nice to be tucked in.

I'll leave you with
the most important tax advice I can give you...

ALWAYS sit down and talk to your tax specialist.

You would be amazed at all the deductions/credits, etc. people are missing
out on.  Shame on all the tax preparers that sit behind a closed door.
They are doing a huge disservice to their clients.

I'll be back in blogland soon.
Miss you,

  1. Miss you too! Come back soon, k? :)

And thanks for that advice. I have a bookeeper AND an accountant. I never sit with the year end guy. Maybe I will after your post.

  2. We miss you too...

    Take care in the craziness!

  3. Totally get it - I work for "the State" - in a part of the "that State" that issuses W-2's! It is amazing the number of people that call up at the EOY and say somthing like "my W-2 is wrong" (and of course it's not) or (and I like this one) "Y'ALL didn't take out enough taxes and now I owe." What-Wait-What? Did you just hear yourself?
People don't take enough interest in that type of thing until about Dec 15 or so - in my opinion.

Keep your chin up - April 15 will be here before you know it!

  4. Me too! Taxes, that is. I am just the "inputter", but I go to tax school every year along with the preparers. You are sooooooo right. There are so many things people don't realize. The only thing good about tax season is that is sure makes winter fly by.

  5. oh goodness! I don't do taxes, but I work for an accounting agricultural software company. I basically do accounting support for people & it's amazing the things I hear & the people that are responsible for doing books for others - blows my mind! I feel for you woman!

  6. I've told you before, Sweetie, you are doing important work. Getting someone's tax life under control can make a huge impact. Deep breaths as you continue . . .

    Good to see you!

  7. Come do my taxes! lol. my father-in-law does ours.

  8. I was wondering where you were. Glad things are okay, although busy.
Yea, we have an appointment with our tax guy every year. He saves us lots of $$!

  9. So you are one of those people who uses both left and right sides of the brain! Cool!

  10. Oh, you are doing important work! I love my tax return. :) Hang in there....see ya in..... May??

  11. We have no need to go to a tax specialist. In fact, we took our taxes in to H&R block after my husband had done them, so that they could e-file it for us, and the specialist looked it over and was surprised that my husband had not missed a thing! In fact, she even told him that he should consider taking some classes to become a tax specialist himself! He really doesn't miss a thing. I'm sure the government just loves having to give us a huge refund every year!! Ha ha. :)

  12. I so need you. I dread tax time...I think I need someone to just do my "books" every month. Seems like it would be sooooo much easier come the end of the year. ~mary~

  13. Definately can't miss those deductions... Too bad there weren't a few more allowed! Love the pretty Sunflowers, and the picture in your header is just so lovely; the little tufts of snow. Just became a follower and look forward to visiting again soon~

  14. i need the motivation to get started on my tax stuff, thanks! good luck! can't wait until you are back!!!

  15. O! Totally busy time of year for you indeed!!

Now I guess I should actually get me crap in order for my accountant instead of it being sprawled all over my table [guilty blush]

I send you virtual energy :)

  16. I know you're very, VERY busy this season, but I gave you an award. ** Feel no obligation to post about it, unless you want to. I just wanted to let you know I think you're fabulous!

  17. You are missed in blog world, but you gotta do what must be done.

    See you after Four-Fifteen....

Happy Valentine's Day....! Hope you got a little pampering to revive yourself.

  18. Hope you are surviving taxes. thanks so much for entering my giveaway and following my blog.

  19. I wish you were doing our taxes...

  20. Hey Amy! You've been MIA for quite some time. Hope all is well with you and your family. Many blessings, Tammy

  21. I haven't been in here in so long! how have you been?

  22. Just wanted to stop by and say hello and say that I'm thinking about you. Keep those pencils sharpened!!!

  23. I meet with my accountant a couple of times a year. Now, I don't know how I ever made it without one! We'll see you after mid-April.
